Rob Hopkins: transition to a world without oil

Submitted by Liz Scarff on September 22, 2011 – 7:00 am 2 Comments

Transition Town founder Rob Hopkins, is an environmentalist with good news.  As the founder of the Transition Town movement, he’s started a practical philosophy on creating a food chain that’s not dependent on oil.

It’s an idea that is fast spreading across not only the UK, but also globally.

Hear his vision at the prestigious Ted Talks (TED: Technology, Entertainment and Design).

Ted Talks writes…

Rob Hopkins reminds us that the oil our world depends on is steadily running out. He proposes a unique solution to this problem — the Transition response, where we prepare ourselves for life without oil and sacrifice our luxuries to build systems and communities that are completely independent of fossil fuels.
